Whether a death is sudden or expected, nothing can really prepare you for the emotional shock of losing someone.
Following a death there are certain procedures that will need to be followed.
If the death has been expected, or your loved one has been unwell for a little while, a qualified individual will need to confirm that death has occurred before we can take care of a loved one back to our chapel of rest (this is usually a doctor or an attending nurse). However, if the death has been sudden or unexpected, the Coroner may need to become involved.
The best course of action is to contact us at your soonest convenience, we will be able to advise you and what the you will need to do in these early stages. Guiding you through who to contact and answering any questions and concerns you may have at have.
