Letting People Know

Letting People Know

Who you will need to notify about the death

When a loved one passes, you will need to notify a lot of people and organisations about their death as soon as possible. Many organisations can be informed of the death by a solicitor supporting you with a probate, so please discuss the list of organisations below with them.

However, you may need to contact these organisations yourself if probate is not required. The Tell Us Once service will allow you to notify many of the government departments in the list below at the same time. This can be discussed with the registrar when you attend your appointment to register the death.
